Day Habilitation

Day Habilitation is the provision of regularly scheduled activities in a non-residential setting, separate from the member’s private residence or other residential living arrangement, such as assistance with acquisition, retention, or improvement in self-help; socialization and adaptive skills that enhance social development; and development of skills in performing activities of daily living and community living.

Activities and environments are designed to foster the acquisition of skills, building positive social behavior and interpersonal competence, greater independence and personal choice. Services are furnished consistent with the member’s person-centered plan.

Day Habilitation services focus on enabling the member to attain or maintain the member’s maximum potential and shall be coordinated with any needed therapies in the member’s person-centered services and supports plan, such as physical occupational, or speech therapy.
